Since opening in 1959, Chosen Hill School has enjoyed a strong reputation. We provide a safe, caring environment working in partnership with parents and the local community.
The school has a tradition of high academic expectation, nurtured by a culture which values achievement in all activities and supports fully the development of each student.
In 2011, Chosen Hill School became an Academy Trust. The school facilities have been developed year on year and we now have superb new facilities for Sport, Languages, Humanities and the Sixth Form. This year new Inclusion facilities and Design Arts Suites will be completed. The Specialist School designation received for Technology in 1997 and Modern Languages in 2008 are still an important feature of the life and work of the school. We are extremely proud to be a lead partner in the Global Language Immersion Centre (GLIC), a specialist exemplar provision in Gloucester for language learning.
There are 1,425 students in the school including a popular and expanding Sixth Form of 270. As an International Award School we welcome students from many parts of the world on study visits and exchange programmes. Our links with SAI International in India, College Victor Duruy in France and Suzhou Foreign Language School in China are particularly strong and we actively encourage international partnerships to support learning and global citizenship.
Chosen Hill school is a happy school, where students, staff and parents work closely in partnership. There is an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
Behaviour has been judged by Ofsted to be good. Students and staff participate in an extensive extra-curricular programme of enrichment activities, clubs, sporting and arts events and for each year group there are planned trips and visits to enrich the knowledge and understanding of our students.
We truly believe that instilling confidence in our students and giving them the opportunity to take responsibility and stretching their talents will enable them to become successful adults.
